Preventative Maintenance

Dear Residents,

We know that the fall and winter seasons are fast approaching, meaning hopefully cooler weather and lots of travel. Our maintenance team has created a list of important preventative maintenance tips in order to help everything run smoothly in your home.

Garbage Disposals should be turned on weekly for at least 5 seconds. This prevents standing, leaking or smelly water. We also recommend cutting up a few lemons or oranges and placing them in the disposal to ensure a fresh scent and shaper blades.

Bleach down the drain twice a month. Pouring bleach down the bathroom and kitchen sink helps remove buildup of soap scum, food, or other items that would cause plumbing issues and backups.

Replacing lights. Oxford supplies light bulbs for our residents. Let us know and we will be more than happy to replace them for you.

Emergency turn off knobs for water. We attached pictures of the emergency water shut off knobs below for the toilet, sink and washer. In case of an emergency you are able to turn the water off to the device until maintenance can get to your home. These knob only require a quarter of a turn, and could protect your home from water damage.

A/C Filters should be changed once a month. When you pay rent in the office you are more than welcome to ask us for a filter and replace yourself or let us know and we will submit a work order. If you pay your rent online, you are more than welcome to call the office or submit a work order online as well.

Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook as the holidays are approaching we will having some resident events and giveaways. If you have any comments, questions or concerns please feel free to stop or call the office.
