Experience the Traditional Stylings of South Asian Music at the Maihar Melodies Concert

Enjoy an incredible evening of Hindustani classical music with Maihar Melodies, a one-of-a-kind concert event hosted at the Arts Mission Oak Cliff! Showcasing the traditional compositions of North India’s rich musical heritage, this event invites you to enjoy the singular sounds of these performers in a beautiful, intimate setting.

This special concert presentation marks the launch of the Sangeet Millennium's 2018 series, "South Asian Music for the World," which will showcase performances of North Indian instrumental music. Maihar Melodies will feature two talented and respected musicians, Pandit Ranajit Sen Gupta and Dr. Amie Shantilal Shah. As disciples of the same guru, they each carry forward their master’s musical heritage that stems from an ancestral home is the town of Maihar, in northern India. They will be presenting a selection of these melodies in this concert, making it a rare musical experience that every music lover will enjoy. There will be a Q&A and a meet and greet immediately following the concert as well, so don’t miss out on this captivating, intimate concert happening at Arts Mission Oak Cliff!
